TS did you change your settings for dead time? Did it make a difference? I am using RC 550 injectors and based on the linked chart, the Hondata default dead times are off, by alot, as they don't change. I am really tempted to try the values from the chart and see what happens. Has anybody changed the dead time values? What were your results.

Re: Injector Dead time values. by KTuner » Sun Nov 15, 2015 9:06 pm. Dead times come from proper testing and should be outlined by the manufacturer of the injector. While you're welcome to adjust them as you see fit, they're not a real-time option for that reason.

Voltage is what causes the Injectors to open/close, and depending on the amount of voltage, the injector can open faster or slower. Getting your injector dead times can improve idle and throttle response.

Re: how do i determine injector dead time. you can measure, you need some gear for testing various duties and frequencies and accurate way to measure flow from them... a mate did it for his drag car on petrol, then realised he had to do it on methanol as that was the fuel he was running. Was a marked difference.

The only reference I have seen, possibly, is the injector rehab page, but those seem different than other offsets I have used for injectors I am familiar.

Now say the injector takes 1.2ms to open, dead time, and we need 4ms, pulse width, of fuel at 7k rpms, we will need a total time of 5.2ms to get the proper pulse width to deliver the proper amount of fuel at that time.

Slowly raise and lower injector on time (I did it by changing the AEM's injector dead time vs. battery voltage, across 3 cells, straddling the battery voltage that I was seeing). Slowly raise and lower it until the RPM starts to drop significantly or the car starts to misfire. I could go from 11:1 to 16.3:1 or so and back.

It's very important and by looking at the chart provided with our injectors, you can see how much it changes with fuel pressure. Anyone who lists a particular dead time with no relation to pressure probably doesn't have the correct data.
